Cabinet Signs
Sometimes called lightboxes, cabinet signs are one of the most reliable and versatile workhorses in commercial signage. A well-designed cabinet sign delivers consistent, even illumination across the entire sign face, maximum visibility day and night, and a clean, finished appearance that works across a wide range of applications and environments. Simple in concept, endlessly customizable in execution.

Face Options: Printed, Push-Through, and More
Printed translucent faces deliver full-color graphics with even backlighting. Push-through acrylic faces add depth and a more upscale appearance.
Single-Face and Double-Face Configurations
Single-face cabinets mount flush against a wall. Double-face cabinets project perpendicularly from the building and are visible from both directions.
Custom Fabrication in Any Shape or Size
Standard rectangular cabinets are common, but we fabricate in custom shapes — rounded corners, contoured outlines, shaped to follow a logo.

Built for Exterior Exposure
Heavy-gauge aluminum with sealed joints, corrosion-resistant hardware, and UV-stable face materials. LED modules rated for exterior exposure.
Retrofitting Existing Cabinets
If you have an existing cabinet sign running fluorescent lamps, a retrofit to LED is one of the smartest investments you can make.

Cabinet Signs FAQs
Channel letters are individually fabricated three-dimensional letters mounted separately on a wall or raceway. A cabinet sign is a single enclosed unit with the entire sign face contained within one frame. Channel letters tend to read as more architectural and upscale; cabinet signs offer more design flexibility for complex graphics and full-color imagery, and are often more cost-effective for larger applications.
Yes. Face panels are designed to be replaceable. When your graphics, messaging, or branding changes, new face panels can be produced and swapped in without touching the cabinet structure or internal components.
Like all illuminated exterior signs in NYC, cabinet signs require permits in most applications. Size, placement, illumination levels, and zoning district all affect what’s permissible. We handle the full permitting process and will advise you upfront on any restrictions that apply to your specific location.
Most custom cabinet signs are completed in 3–5 weeks from approved artwork, depending on size and complexity. Rush production is available in select circumstances — let us know if you’re working against a deadline.
